It was an evening of glitz and glamor for the Oyelades on Saturday 3rd, September 2022 as the family converged at the Provincial Headquarters, Desire of Nations of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to celebrate 10 Years of God’s faithfulness and the Launch of Two Inspiring Books by Pastor (Mrs) Halima Oyelade and daughter, Miss Stephanie Oyelade.
Undoubtedly, the evening best indicates God’s steadfast faithfulness and support as men of timber and caliber from the Church, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Family Members, Friends and Relatives Graced the Occasion.
The outpouring of testimonies, eulogies, and praises best describe the fact that the Oyelades is indeed a God-sent family and one that everyone is glad to reckon with.
The Continental Overseer and Assistant General Overseer (Education and Training) Pastor Ezekiel Odeyemi described Halima Oyelade as a true Christian woman.
In his words, “Halima has shown to us what it takes to be a Christian woman, including her children, I have no doubt within me that one of the reasons that God has sent her to the world is to reveal to us that God is faithful no matter what one is passing through”.
Without mincing words, gestures, laughter, and smiles from attendees show that if time permits they also have tonnes of testimonies to speak of concerning the Oyelades.
Halima Oyelade’s book titled Blessed Beyond Reproach was written out of a desire to basically help people that have gone through challenging and difficult times.
Halima said people lose many which take them through dark moments in life but Infer that the book is not just for people that have gone through difficult times but had suffered reproach.
“So I just want to give people hope and tell them not to let other people or situations define them, if I could walk through it, they too can walk through it”
Halima advised other widows to look up to God, as God is an unfailing companion, she noted that trusting and walking in faith will ensure victory rather than being a pity party or begging for survival.
Beaming with smile and life, Halima Oyelade assured of a better and bigger next 10 years, In her words, she said “You cannot walk with God and retrogress, the next 10 years will be a celebration of something bigger and better because God told me that I will forget my yesterday”.
Miss Stephanie’s joy too knew no bounds as she attributed her inspiration to writing her book “Good, God Grief” to a way of encouraging people that are going through difficulty that God is good regardless of what they are passing through.
Stephanie who also took inspiring spoken words that got the congratulatory emotion stated that her story exemplifies how she was able to pull through.
In her words, she said, “For going through a lot, it’s right to cry and be emotional, but I want them to draw strength from God and remember that he understands your pain and you will find comfort in his hands”.
Highlights of the event included a formal launch of the books, thanksgiving, and photo sections of everyone trying to have a photoshoot with the Oyelades.
The Continental Overseer and Assistant General Overseer (Education and Training)of the Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG, Pastor Ezekiel Odeyemi has described A/P Halima Oyelade as an example of a true Christian woman.
Odeyemi while speaking over the weekend at Oyelades Book Launch and the Evening of Thanksgiving stated that despite the demise of her husband she stood faithfully with God and God showed up for her.

Explains, Odeyemi “In our society, I have learned my own little experience that anytime something negative happens to you there are those who wants to scorn you, but putting your faith in Christ that God is alive is important”.
He added that it is only when the problem surfaces that is when we know how strong our faith is, “this family has been able to show to us that you can overcome when Jesus is on your side”.
Odeyemi advised that the most important lesson learned from the Oyelades is that it does not matter what one is confronted with, one should make sure to always be on God’s side and he will never disappoint such a faithful one.
In the same vein, Pastor in Charge, Rccg, Throne Room, Pastor Laniyi Benjamins described late Oyelade as a good organizer, hard working and highly dedicated to God’s work.
“This man taught me how to be organized, how to manage my time and money, he taught me commitment, he taught me that freedom comes with responsibility and also how to play basketball and where the kits can be gotten”.
Laniyi, appreciating halima noted that she made late Oyelade a happy man during his lifetime and after life.
“So I want to thank you Aunty Halima for making my brother a very happy person in his lifetime, you brought joy into his life, and particularly after his demise. God Bless his soul forever”.
The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq on tuesday 15th June has flagged off the distribution of engagement letters and monitoring devices to trained Independent Monitors in Kano State at Coronation Hall Government House, Kano State.
The Honorable Minister who was represented at the flag-off by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Bashir Nura Alkali disclosed that the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), created by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2016 is mandated to lift citizens out of poverty through Its various programmes such as N-Power, National Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP), the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) and Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP). The Programme is implemented in the 36 states including the Federal Capital Territory.
Alkali said, the 320 Independent Monitors in Kano State are among the 5000 trained in February – April 2021 when the nationwide trainnig was held.
” The devices to be used in monitoring the Programme are locally made in Nigeria with an Application called the Social Investment Management Information System (SIMIS) designed by an indigenous company. Using this Application the Ministry sees real-time activities of the Independent Monitors on the field, see reports submitted, and the NSIP performance indicator state by state. This will help the Ministry detect areas where there are challenges and essentially help the Ministry to deliver on the mandate, to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty” he noted.
“The Independent Monitors are expected to monitor a designated number of beneficiaries of the NSIP and will be paid a stipend of N30,000 monthly. However, they must meet up to 80% of the deliverables to get their stipends. The engagement letters articulated the scope of work for the monitors which include; routine monitoring of NSIP in their assigned L.GA and provision of evidence-based reports on findings amongst other things”
Furthermore, the Permanent Secretary warned the monitors not to assign their responsibility to third parties, each monitor will be held accountable by the Ministry in the event of any misconduct. He congratulated them and urged them to carry out the assignment with a sense of patriotism, diligence, and sincerity.
Also speaking, the Executive Governor of Kano State who was represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, Usman Alhaji waziriu Gaya, lauded the Ministry for its continued support in lifting Nigerians above the poverty line and improving on the living standards of the citizenry. He told the IMs to make good use of the opportunity given to them to attain greater heights.
Earlier the Focal Person of the NSIP in Kano, Baba Aminu Zubair, said indeed the Programme is in keeping with the vision of President Muhammadu Buhari to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty, adding that Kano State has the highest number of N-Power beneficiaries across the country.
Aminu affirmed that 119,000 households registered under the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme (CCT) in Kano State received N5,000 monthly. He appreciated the Federal Government through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development for the kind gesture.
Others present at the event were:- Special Assistant on Strategic Communication to the Minister, Halima Oyelade, senior officials of the State Government, the NSIP Coordinators from the LGAs, and other dignitaries.

Almost a month ago on the 11th of August, I was ordained a full Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God by Pastor E .A Adeboye at the Redemption Camp of the Church.
It was a truly humbling experience and I consider it a great privilege to be called into a higher level of service to God, His Church, and mankind. I can only put my hands in the Lord’s hands and let Him lead me to what He will have me do for as long as I live.
Every time I am at the Redemption Camp I cannot get my mind away from the fact that all that is there is a result of one man having great faith in a great God.
Daddy G. O as the General Overseer Pastor E.A Adeboye is fondly called by Church members at some point in time had asked God for a house for his family and God said He would give him a City. This was after he became General Overseer and resigned his job at the university to take up the mantle of leadership.
Back in the day, the Church which started from humble beginnings didn’t have much and so after leaving the University they did not have anything near the kind of accommodation they were used to. It was at this point he prayed for a place they could call home. Note that God asked him to give up all the benefits the University gave him for his years of meritorious service.
True to His word God gave him not just a house but a city.
Today the Redemption Camp is a city with houses, banks, markets, public transportation, hotels etc and during the Convention of the Church in August and other church programs the camp plays hosts to literally millions of people.
However, it wasn’t always what it is today as when they moved it was still ‘bush’, no electricity, wild animals and snakes but they moved and stayed on till a City emerged.
Some of the lessons I have learned from observing this great man
of God are;
1. The fact that God has called you does not mean there will be no challenges. 2. The road to greatness and uncommon success is not easy and requires sacrifice. 3. If you keep trusting God, walk in faith, persist and persevere the results are phenomenal and mind-blowing. 4. A man that works with God and is totally sold out to Him will always win.
On this beautiful Sunday, I encourage you with the Bible verse that says ‘do not despise the days of little beginnings’ because ‘though your beginning is small your latter end will greatly increase’
God used a man that was an illiterate as founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, made him hand over to a man who said when he was growing up they were so poor that even the poor called them poor. Then turned that small gathering into an organization (Church) with a presence in 197 Countries. Millions have been saved, healed, delivered and set free because a man chose to walk with God.
No matter where you are or how down and under you may remember it’s not over, it’s only part of the journey and if you hold on in faith you will enter your wealthy place.
We all have assignments we are created for and greatness inside of us. The decision on how much impact we want to have and the value we want to add is ours. But we need to remember that if we choose to walk with God the possibilities are limitless!!!

Welcome, today I want to talk to you about something I am very passionate about- That is the power of vision. Let me ask you a question. What do you see? You know it is said that sight is the function of the eyes, but the vision is the function of the mind or heart. Again eyes that look are common, but eyes that see are rare.
That is why am asking you today what do you see? Looking around you what do you see? Are you someone judging from your environment, do you see negativity or positivity, opportunities or challenges? What are the issues around your life?
You know we all have been gifted with a special gift of creativity and imagination. The ability to see big things in our minds even before they come into being.
You know everything you see started off as an idea, first in the mind of somebody before it was created physically. Somebody saw it and they imagined it and believed it. They felt it was possible, even when nobody believed it, possibly people laughed at them when they shared it.
Imagine the Wright brothers who created the airplane? I am sure people must have mocked them, even their father who was a Reverend Gentleman felt something was wrong with them. He may have felt that their idea was demonic.
Those were his own thoughts, but they were seeing beyond what others could not see and were determined for it to come into reality. People must have warned them about the law of gravity? You see great minds see things differently and then work towards it. They are willing to pay the price.
You might be saying internally, ‘you don’t know where I am coming from, my present circumstances, the difficulties and others’. You see I don’t want to make light of them.
The truth is that you have to be through things in life and I congratulate you for coming this far despite what you have been through, but another way I want you to look at it is that many more people have been through what you have been through, some maybe even worse and they ‘made it.’
So if they can make it, nothing shall be impossible. If there is a problem, are you seeing solutions or visualizing negativity every day. You can start by simply seeing positivity and possibility.
See a beautiful future ahead of you, see your business as being vibrant and yourself as being healthy. What is that thing you want to see in your life, physically begin to allow it to sit in your heart of hearts and begin to be ready to pay the price for it.
If it is an area you are seeing something you can become and you don’t have the requisite skills or knowledge go and learn what a beautiful age it is to be alive with Google.
There is so much you can learn from other people, seek out other people that are doing what you want to become and learn from people that have failed and begin to see the beautiful future you desire.
BREAK FORTH FROM OBSCURITY TO PROMINENCE
To ‘break forth’ means to come out into view from concealment, to rise, happen or move from being hidden to being relevant and visible.
No matter what you do in life, even if you have a good business and you are not visible, people are not going to find you or patronize you and it’s going to limit the returns on your business or investment or whatever it is that you do.
What keeps us from breaking forth sometimes is that life
happens! You got it all planned and you wake up everything changes suddenly. At
this point, some of us don’t even know what to do, for some other people it
might even be the fear of the unknown.
Then how do you break forth?
*Acknowledge it’s a process! No woman conceives and gives birth the same day. The truth is that when you break forth when you are not ready, you have not developed yourself to have the right skillset and mindset to meet all that you need when you break forth, chances are that you will not make it.
*Be Persistent! Sometimes, I tell people “If you find yourself in difficult situations and places in life, keep growing in those places.” I so much love the story of a young man in the Bible called Joseph who had a dream that he is going to be great, but unfortunately for him to be great he ended up in a pit and being sold by his own brothers. Then a slave to a house boy and then ended up being thrown into a prison but a day of reckoning came after that incubation period was over; he broke forth by interpreting the dream of Pharaoh.
And game-changer for him was that he was ready. He remained
connected and growing up. So for you when you break forth, what is breaking
forth into? What value are you delivering to people?
You need to be persistent, you see when you break forth you
begin to do significant things definitely you will encounter challenges. Even
some of the challenges are going to be greater than what you expected. The
people that have changed the course of history or mankind did so because they
learned to have “staying power”- when things were not going right
*Be disciplined and committed! Joseph was consistently consistent in all that he did. He was consistent in character, attitude, and work ethics and it was easy for him when “greatness” was handed over to him into being a Prime minister overnight. The question is asking you today is that are you ready? Are you prepared? Are you preparing?
*prioritize! Some things are in themselves that are not bad but you can’t keep doing everything and cluttering your life; you are not going to achieve much. You need to become focused. You need to focus on the natural things that are driving you to achieve your goals, dreams, and vision for your life.
Breaking forth implies applying a certain degree of pressure to those things that have enclosed you and kept you invisible. So as you go through this life or “inside life” I encourage you to go through these things and believe God. We will see at the top because that is where we belong.
